City of Buckhannon


The brass city seal and the words, “City Hall, Buckhannon, West Virginia” shine above the columns and the entrance to Buckhannon’s city hall.

Formerly the Buckhannon Post Office, the city hall houses offices for the mayor, the city recorder and treasurer, municipal court, police department, city engineer, utility board offices, zoning officer, city attorney and council chambers.

City of Buckhannon Seal The building was constructed in 1916 as the city’s post office, but it was converted to the city hall in 1967 when a new post office was built on Spring Street.
